Classic and unbeatable! Affordable and comfy!
* Blue and white slippers are unique plastic slippers in Taiwan. They are blue and white, and the bottom of the shoe has serrated horizontal stripes to increase friction. Later, there are also red and white main color matching shoes.
The origin of blue and white slippers was in Taiwan around 1950. The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China, under the advice of the US Aid Advisory Group, instructed the factory which produced military boots at the time to develop lightweight slippers that the public could wear (at that time, there were only soles and ropes), and the color matching was the blue and white of the national emblem of the Republic of China. Later, civilians utilized inexpensive raw materials and mechanized production technology to mass-produce improved joint logistics shoes.
Because the slippers are cheap, comfortable, and durable, in addition to the hot weather in Taiwan, they can be worn on various daily occasions, so they are widely popular among students and the middle and lower classes. Recently, blue and white slippers have often been regarded as the representative of Taiwan's grassroots culture and one of the must-haves for the so-called "Taiwanese".
